Depaneling of Circuit Boards baumann has developed a new, inline-capable depaneling and assembly cell in cooperation with Dieter Metz SMD-Technologie. The characteristic features of the baumann de|box reside in the coupling of the separation method with the robot-aided loading/unloading technique. Applications: The baumann de|box allows the singluation of the panels as well as a postprocessing of the single circuit board (like checking, assembling or palletizing) in the same cell. Performance: Panels of a size of up to 290 x 450 mm may be processed with a maximum pressure of 74 kN. The cycle times are approx. 2 seconds for picking up and placing a panel or a circuit board and approx. 5 seconds for the complete depaneling process. Features: Two separating knives, which penetrate the base material from top and bottom simultaneously, transmit the resulting plastic material displacement to the residual strip and not to the board, and ensure a careful, low-stress separation with this. Options: The baumann de|box may be used as end cell in the circuit board equipment area as well as start or feed and assembly cell in the final assembly area. The supply may be performed via transport conveyors or magazines and trays. Further treatments may also be integrated.
